tyler-surprised-oscarAs is the case every year, critics are up in arms as many of their favorites were seemingly snubbed by the Academy Awards. “Snubs” are movies that were expected to be nominated but surprisingly were not. Here are a few of this year’s noteworthy snubs (All are currently available to rent at Crossover);

  • Tom Hanks for his leading role in “Captain Phillips”
  • Oprah Winfrey for her supporting role in “The Butler”
  • “Fruitvale Station” for Best Picture
  • Michael B. Jordan for his leading role in “Fruitvale Station”
  • James Gandolfini for his leading role in “Enough Said”
  • “Monsters University” for Best Animated Film

Having personally watched The Butler and Fruitvale Station, I was very surprised at the omission of these movies from the Academy Awards. If you have the opportunity, check them out- they are both fantastic movies with equally great acting!

Have a safe week and don’t forget to support your local businesses!
