Marathon PGM-Cu Mine Project Public Hearing Cancelled, Environmental Assessment Suspended
Further to yesterday’s information [CLICK HERE to read] , the Panel has issued a letter in response to Stillwater Canada’s Inc. request to suspend the environmental assessment process. The letter is available on the public registry at:
http://www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca/050/documents/p54755/98244E.pdf.
The Panel has concluded that in light of the information provided by Stillwater, it no longer has sufficient information to proceed with the environmental assessment at this point in time. As a result, the public hearing, scheduled to begin on February 20/14, is being cancelled. The Panel is also issuing a request for additional information to the proponent, and the time taken by Stillwater Canada Inc. to respond to the information request will not be counted in the time available to the Panel to conduct its review.
The Panel wishes to thank all participants for their involvement to date, and appreciates your understanding regarding the cancellation of the public hearing.
