MANITOUWADGE, ON – As long as kids have been going to school, students have welcomed the opportunity to have a ‘Spring Break’.  This week Manitouwadge Public School students will enjoy their much deserved rest and they are well prepared, in all aspects, for the interaction with fellow students, friends, and family  members.

Recently our Student Council organized an Anti-Bullying Marathon – in celebration of Pink Shirt Day and the anti-bullying campaign.  Their were numerous activities centered around raising the children’s awareness of how serious bullying is.  It is important to learn, at an early age, that the difference between bullying and ‘just having fun’ is a very thin line.  One of the activities our students enjoyed was coloring, designing and cutting out a boot that symbolized the ‘stomping out’ of bullying.

The activities were a hit with all the students, from the JK’s through to the ‘young adults’ in the Grade 7 / 8 class.  Another lesson well received at MPS!
