TERRACE BAY, ON – Wednesday, March 5th the staff at St. Martin School planned and hosted a Math Olympics in the gym to celebrate World Math Day. Upon entering into the gym each school family assembled together to begin the competition where they would rotate between stations with various math games that were created by educator teams with various Math games including: Ski Slalom, Curling, Roll and Build, and a Shape Race.
Congratulations to the two ‘gold’ winning school families: Mrs Godin’s Family with Breanne, Kierah, Maria, Logan, Lee, Sam, Lea, Jase, Ellie, Jacob and Ms. Bergeron/Mrs. Turcottes family with Olivia, Aries, Michael, Emma, Patrick, Dawson, Nikkila, Ashley, Laurel, and James. Congratulations to Ms. Ruberto/Mrs. Maenpaa’s family with Tatum, Austin McLeod, Ethan, Kieran, Caleb, Emercyn, Jack, Wyatt, Sophia, and Liam for winning the silver medal!
We look forward to continued participation of all families in these very valuable learning experiences and please know that your children appreciate your involvement in their academic life.

100th Day Celebrated Last Month At St.Martin

Monday, February 10th the Grade 1/2 class celebrated the 100th day of school with various classroom activities. The 100th day is a great way for teachers to celebrate the various mathematical concepts that can be taught using the number 100. From the very first day of school the Grade 1/2 students began keeping track of the number of days they’ve been in school in anticipation of the 100th day. The students began the morning creating their party hats with 100 stickers followed by a variety of classroom activities throughout the day, including jumping for 100 seconds, eating 100 snacks, estimating how far 100 steps will take them in the hallway, etc.
St. Martin School staff and students are officially 100 days smarter!
