Developping Public Speaking Skills at St. Hillary’s

RED ROCK, ON – May 6, St. Hilary students competed in their Annual Speech Arts Competition. The contest showcased the speaking and writing skills of 8 brave students.

Julia Sands won the Primary Division, telling the audience about her brother. Runners up were Marliese Nyman and Charlotte Raycevich.  In the Junior Division, Madelyn Sheriff took the top spot with her speech on “weird things people do.” Noah Sands and Alison Rose took the runner up spots in the toughest category of the day.

The Intermediate Division went to Jennifer Nichols telling the audience about “How to annoy people at the movie theatre.” Calley Olsen earned second place with her informative speech on “How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse.”

The winners of each division will travel to Terrace Bay to compete in the Board-wide Speech Arts competition on May 15.  Best of luck to all participants!
