Northshore Communities Launch Workforce Attraction Videos

TERRACE BAY, ON – May 6th 2014 representatives from Marathon, Nipigon and Terrace Bay gathered at the offices of Superior North CFDC along with Madge Richardson, Executive Director of the North Superior Workforce Planning Board for the launch of 3 videos promoting workforce attraction to the communities.

A Thunder Bay film production company was contracted to produce the approximately 5 minute videos, focusing on the unique workforce needs within each community. In turn, each community is to use their respective videos however they see fit in recruiting and attracting a skilled workforce, currently Marathon has it’s video available to view via a link from their municipal website. A Local Initiative Contribution through the Superior North Community Futures Development Corporation contributed to the project along with funds from the North Superior WPB and each of the communities.

Marathon EDO Bob Hancherow explained that Marathon’s video has returned to the editing process as it is being tweaked to have multiple, shorter videos which will be used for promoting the community beyond workforce attraction.
