MANITOUWADGE, ON – Superior 3B Division 2014 Senior Games continued today in Manitouwadge. The proud host community has welcomed competitors, 55 years and up, from communities across the Northshore (Wawa through Schreiber) since Monday when the games began at the municipal soccer field. Various sporting events continue throughout the week with golf at the Manitouwadge Municipal Golf Course wrapping up Sunday, May 31st.

The weather has luckily cooperated as their are a number of events including golf and walking, taking place outdoors.   K.G.’s Bar & Lounge was the site for 9-ball billiards earlier in the week while bridge and euchre were played at the Golden Age Centre.

Competitors travelled to the neighbouring community of Marathon for 5-pin bowling  while carpet bowling, for which White River’s Harmony Club Team is a strong favourite, is being held in Manitouwadge. Spectators are encouraged to come out and cheer on their favourite athletes at the Manitouwadge Recreation Centre Friday where shuffle board and cribbage are being held (no cheering for the latter please) on Friday (May 30th).

The fun and excitement will wrap up with a banquet and awards at the Golden Age Centre when those who have earned the opportunity to move on and represent Superior 3B at the provincial level in Windsor, August 19-21, will be announced.  Good luck to all those who are competing and Welcome to Manitouwadge!
