Wawa Goose Seniors Club News: Goose Droppings

330-WGSC-hotbuttonThe Wawa Fall Fair is almost upon us, foretold by the nippy nights recently.  Saturday, September 20 will see many displays of the fruits of the growing season at the Community Centre.  It will be interesting to see the results of the oft complained about cool months we called summer in Wawa for 2014.

The Wawa Goose Seniors’ Club will be there to tempt your taste buds with a variety of cheese cakes and tea or coffee.  We will have blueberry cheese cake and others too.  Dessert is good…and a little bit is good for you provided you get all those many steps in along with the goodies…so sayeth Dr. Kill me Quick!  Maybe just sitting down for a minute and giving us your $5.00 will be the excuse you need to indulge.

On Friday, September 19, 2014 the Family Health Team, represented by Norma Kauk and Renee Mellish, will be at the Drop In from 1:00 to 3:00 to hold the first Blood Pressure Clinic of the fall and to fill us in on the program called “Soup to Tomatoes”.  Come on out, check up on your health, get filled in on the happenings to help your health, and check out the bright lights and newly lowered ceiling of the Drop In.

Annually come September, the Drop In becomes a venue for the Alzheimer Society Coffeebreak.  This year we are holding our part of it over three days: Tuesday, September 16 to Thursday, September 18.  Drop In and have a tea or coffee and drop your big money in the CoffeeBreak container.

Seniors’ Golf ended on September 15, 2014 so starting September 22, Bridge will be on Monday (and soon the seniors will be curling on Tuesdays!)

Let’s hope the great weather that is often our fall reward lets us all out in comfort for a whole month and we can all make our way to the Drop In for fun and company.
