Armed Robbery In Longlac

LONGLAC, ON – November 4, 2014 at approximately 5:50pm the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an armed robbery at the Rexall Pharmacy in Longlac. It was reported that a male suspect entered the pharmacy and demanded prescription drugs from the staff while displaying a firearm. The suspect then fled with a small amount of medication and departed the scene in a vehicle with another male. It was later learned that the firearm in question was an imitation pistol.

As a result of the investigation two males have been arrested and taken into custody: 24-year old Ryan PRESLEY and 70-year-old James PRESLEY, both of Cobalt, Ontario. They have both been charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code:

Robbery
Use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence
Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public

The accused are being held in police custody pending an appearance by video to the Thunder Bay Ontario Court of Justice on November 5, 2014.
