The sun has been shining and the heaping piles of snow are slowly melting revealing a sight that hasn’t been seen in seemingly forever- grass! This can only mean one thing- spring is coming! Although it has officially been spring for a few weeks now, the weather certainly hasn’t felt that way until recently. I think we’d all agree that it’s easy enough to get caught up outside enjoying the sun, but don’t forget to allot yourself some time for movie watching as this time of the year is usually rife with plenty of great new releases (and you wouldn’t want to fall behind now would you?). There are seven new releases this week with a brief synopsis of each to follow;

Babadook: starring Essie Davis – A single mother, plagued by the violent death of her husband, battles with her son’s fear of a monster lurking in the house, but soon discovers that monster may be more than just a figment of his imagination. Escobar Paradise Lost: starring Josh Hutcherson and Benecio Del Toro – A young Canadian moves to Colombia to open a beach side surf shop with his brother. There, he meets a young lady who happens to be the niece of ruthless drug lord Pablo Escobar. Before long, he finds himself mixed up in Escobar’s world of crime. (Crime/Thriller) (DVD)
Bound: starring Charisma Carpenter and Daniel Baldwin – The daughter of a wealthy real estate broker falls in love with a younger man, who introduces her to B&D and S&M. (Drama) (DVD)
Dead Drop: starring Luke Goss – A former CIA operative re-infiltrates a dangerous North Mexican drug trafficking ring to find the man who tried to kill him. With his memory unravelling, he descends into a murderous rampage while trying to uncover the truth. (Action) (DVD)
Man With the Iron Fists 2: When a stranger is found badly wounded near the village, a miner and his wife offer him refuge. As he heals, he becomes entrenched in a conflict that pits the townsfolk against the evil Master Ho, his Beetle Clan and the terrifying Lord Pi. (Action/Martial-Arts) (DVD)
FOR THE GAMERS
Mortal Kombat X: The timeless franchise is back with its newest installment featuring its signature style of gameplay with returning favorite characters and plenty of new ones! This game introduces a new sub story line which follows some popular characters like Scorpion while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil that tie the tale together. Available to rent or buy for Xbox One and Playstation 4.
