#CrossoverInsider: New Releases, Oscar Winners, February TOP TEN & Trailers
The 2016 Academy Awards ceremony is officially in the books and it was certainly a night to remember. After years of failed nominations, Leonardo DiCaprio finally took home his first Academy Award for his leading role in “The Revenant” (available at Crossover in April). Three other nominees are set to make their DVD debut this week headlined by Creed featuring Sylvester Stallone in an Academy nominated supporting role as Rocky Balboa. There are a total of eleven new releases this week with a brief synopsis of each title below;
Creed: starring Michael B Jordan and Sylvester Stallone- Former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa agrees to serve as a trainer and mentor to Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed. Night Before: starring Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon Levitt- On Christmas Eve, three long-time friends continue their annual tradition of searching for an elusive party- while dealing with other shenanigans along the way. Legend: starring Tom Hardy- The story of identical twin gangsters Reggie and Ronnie Kray, two of the most notorious criminals in British history, and their organized crime empire in the East End of London during the 1960s. (Crime/Drama) (DVD) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!
Miss You Already: starring Drew Barrymore- The friendship between two life-long friends is put to the test when one starts a family and the other becomes ill. (Drama/Comedy) (DVD) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!
Room: starring Brie Larson- After being trapped in a 10-by-10 foot space for all of his life, a young boy and his mother finally escape allowing him to discover the thrills of the outside world. (Drama) (DVD) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!
Danish Girl: starring Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander- After a Dutch artist paints her husband as a woman in her latest work, the husband begins to slowly change his appearance ultimately embracing his womanly appearance. (Drama/Romance) (DVD)
Don Verdean: starring Sam Rockwell and Danny McBride- Hired by a small-town pastor to find sacred relics in the Holy Land, a self-proclaimed Biblical archaeologist finds himself bending the truth as his search continues to yield no results. (Comedy) (DVD)
God’s Club: starring Stephen Baldwin- A debate ensues between Catholics and Atheists as to whether or not prayers should be allowed at their children’s school.
Intruders: starring Rory Culkin- A young woman suffering from agoraphobia finds herself crippled with fear and unable to leave her house after a trio of criminals break in. But what the intruders don’t realize is that agoraphobia is not her only psychosis. (Horror/Thriller) (DVD)
Scream at the Devil: starring Tony Todd- A schizophrenic woman is pushed over the edge after discovering that her husband has been involved in elicit affairs. Now her hallucinations have become reality and she will stop at nothing to get her revenge. (Thriller)
Youth: starring Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel- A retired orchestra conductor, on holidays with his daughter and his best friend, struggles to cope with boredom and age while hoping to one day conduct again. (Drama/Comedy) (DVD)
