Movie lovers will be delighted to learn that some of the biggest movies of the year, actually some of the biggest movies ever, will be releasing over the next few weeks. Not a day goes by where we don’t get asked about “The Revenant”, the big budget adventure film which landed Leonardo DiCraprio his first career Academy Award, which releases on DVD and Blu-Ray on April 19th. Fast forward to April 26th when the highly anticipated sequel Ride Along 2 hits the shelves. Looking ahead to May, the trend continues with Deadpool, Dirty Grandpa, Gods of Egypt and Risen all set to release at Crossover! And of course, between those dates, plenty of other great new movies will be available to rent and buy including a nice selection this week! There are a total of six new releases this week with a brief synopsis of each below;
The Forest: starring Natalie Dormer- After the mysterious disappearance of her twin sister, a woman ventures to Japan’s notorious “Suicide Forest” where she encounters a terrifying supernatural force. (Horror) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!
Standoff: starring Laurence Fishburne and Thomas Jane- A troubled veteran gets a chance at redemption when a 12 year-old girl seeks his protection after witnessing a brutal murder at the hands of a ruthless assassin. 400 Days: starring Dane Cook and Brandon Routh- A team of astronauts, locked away for 400 days as part of a simulation, find themselves put the ultimate test when they lose communication with the outside world and are forced to try to find a way out. Big Stone Gap: starring Ashley Judd, Whoopi Goldberg and Patrick Wilson- In a small town located in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, a self-proclaimed spinster finds her life shaken up and forever changed after learning a long-buried family secret.
