#CrossoverInsider: This Week’s New Releases (Trailers) & Congratulations Dave Owen!

Every year there are seemingly a handful of movies about which everyone is always asking “when does it come out?” Generally, these movies tend to ones that feature popular super-heroes or big-name action stars. This week marks the debut of one of these titles. In Justice League, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and other DC superheroes share the screen in a fight to save humanity. Justice League is also the headline new release in a week that also marks the debut of Academy Award winner for Best Picture- “Shape of Water”. There are a total of eight new releases this week with a brief synopsis of each below;

Justice League: starring Ben Affleck, Amy Adams and Gal Gadot- Batman and Superman join forces with their crew and a new ally, Wonder Woman, as they face off against an enemy that threatens the universe. (Action/Adventure) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge! 

Disaster Artist: starring James Franco, Dave Franco and Seth Rogen- Based on a TRUE STORY! A struggling actor meets the strange and mysterious Tommy Wiseau. Ferdinand: featuring the voices of John Cena and Kate McKinnon- After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, a friendly bull is captured and taken away from his family. Now he must rally some new friends in a desperate attempt to return home. (Family/Animated) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge! 

 

Shape of Water: starring Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon and Octavia Spencer- WINNER of Academy Award for Best Picture! A lonely janitor forms a unique relationship with an amphibious creature being held in captivity at a top secret research facility. (Drama/Fantasy)(DVD)

I Tonya: starring Margot Robbie and Allison Janney- WINNER of Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Figure Skater Tonya Harding rises through the ranks of competitive figure skating while dealing with her quirky mother and nosey ex-husband. (Drama/Comedy) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Kickboxer Retaliation: starring Alain Moussi and Christopher Lambert- An MMA fighter is drugged and sent to serve prison time in Thailand where he forced to prepare for a fight against a 6”8”, 400lb behemoth. (Action) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Call Me By Your Name: starring Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer- WINNER of Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and nominated for Best Picture and Best Actor. In 1980’s Italy, an unlikely romance forms between a 17 year old boy and the older man hired to be his father’s assistant. (Romance/Drama) (DVD)

Handmaid’s Tale Season 1: starring Elisabeth Moss- WINNER of the Golden Globe award for Best TV Series. In a not too distant future, where women are treated as second class citizens, June is captured and forced to serve as a handmaid in a religious cult. (Drama) (DVD)
