#Crossover Insider: This Week’s New Movie Releases & Trailers + How to WIN!
Over the years, we have watched as a number of the most popular young adult book series have come to life with movie adaptations. The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Divergent, Percy Jackson, Twilight, and this week’s headline new release are just a few examples. Back in 2014, we first met Thomas- a young man who had just been dropped into a mysterious maze with no memory of how he got there or who he was before. The 2014 hit “Maze Runner” was indeed based on the first book in the Maze Runner series. Part 2, “Scorch Trials” would follow in 2015 with plans for the final installment to release the year after. Those plans would change when lead actor Dylan O’Brien suffered serious injuries during filming. It wouldn’t be until 2017 until the final installment, “Death Cure”, hit the big screens- and this week it leads an impressive batch of seven new releases hitting our shelves. Below is a brief synopsis of each new title;
Maze Runner Death Cure: starring Dylan O’Brien and Kaya Scodelario- Thomas leads his group on a dangerous mission to save their friend Minoh from WCKD while also trying to find a cure for the flare. (Action/Sci-Fi) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!
Hostiles: starring Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike, Adam Beach and Wes Studi- On the brink of retirement, a legendary Army captain is forced to escort an ailing Cheyenne chief and his family through dangerous enemy territory. Den of Thieves: starring Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr.- A group of notorious bank robbers plan a seemingly impossible heist at the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown LA while being hunted by an elite police force.
