Promoting Student Engagement and School Attendance

Superior North Catholic District School Board together with Pays Plat First Nation and Dilico Anishinabek Family Care held a Promoting Student Engagement & School Attendance Workshop on April 12, 2018, at Pays Plat First Nation Community Hall.

Keynote speakers included Dr. Christopher Mushquash, Dilico Anishinabek Family Care and Colleen Sheriff, Indigenous Education Lead at Superior North Catholic District School Board.

The focus of the workshop was about why attendance is important for student success. The keynote speakers spoke to parents and community members about how they can help encourage better grades and healthy life habits including self-care, getting enough sleep and eating properly to give our students a better chance of graduating high school.
