75th Anniversary Movie Night, Slow-Pitch Tourney, New Movie Releases & More

For most kids growing up the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, Disney movies were a fixture in the household. Seeing a shelf full of the big bulky VHS cases with such titles as Cinderella, Lion King and other classics was about as common as the rotary phone at the time. One of the aforementioned classics featured a beloved elephant- Dumbo. This week, Dumbo is back in  live-action form alongside four other titles. Below is a brief synopsis of each;

Dumbo: starring Colin Farrel, Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito- When a circus crew learns that their baby elephant can fly, they quickly hatch a plan to make him a star in hopes that it’ll save their show. (Family) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge

Hummingbird Project: starring Jesse Eisenberg and Salma Hayek- A pair of high-volume stock traders take on their old boss in an effort to win a fiber-optic cable deal that could be worth millions. (Drama/Thriller) (DVD) Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge

The Kid: starring Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke-  While on the run from their violent uncle, a young  man and his teenage sister cross paths with Billy the Kid and soon find themselves at the center of a deadly feud. (Western) (DVD)

They Shall Not Grow Old: Through ground breaking computer restoration technology, filmmaker Peter Jackson’s team creates a moving real-to-life depiction of WWI, as never seen before, in order to honor those who fought and more accurately depict this historical moment in world history. (Documentary) (DVD)

Leprechaun Returns: starring Taylor Spreitler- When a group of college girls tear down an old cottage to make room for their new sorority house, they unwittingly awaken the leprechaun who quickly sets out to seek revenge. (Horror) (DVD)
