Motor Vehicle Collision Results in Impaired Driving Charge

GERALDTON, ON – On October 23, 2019 at approximately 6:24 p.m., officers from the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Superior North Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Greenstone Fire Department responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 west of Geraldton, Ontario  

The lone occupant was transported by EMS to Geraldton District Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 26 year-old from Avonmore, Ontario with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation of a Conveyance While Impaired contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a)
  • Operation of a Conveyance While Impaired- Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80mg contrary to Section 320.14(1)(b)

The accused was released by way of Recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton, Ontario on December 19, 2019 to answer to the charges.
