SNCDSB Advises Parents Re: Potential School Closures Tuesday

NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO – Parents of Superior North Catholic District School Board students received a letter Friday regarding potential strike action that could result in school closures this week.

The following information was included in the letter:

Labour Update Regarding January 21, 2020, OECTA Strike

The Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) has given notice that they will be engaging in a one-day strike on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. If a labour agreement has NOT been reached by the evening of Monday, January 20, in-school classes will be cancelled and all Superior North Catholic District School Board schools will be closed to students on January 21, 2020. Parents/guardians should make alternate arrangements for their children if required.

All non-OECTA staff are expected to report to their school or workplace as usual. In addition, the Board Office will remain open.

We understand this may have an enormous impact on families. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.

OntarioNewsNorth.com will continue to follow the situation and provide updates as they become available.
