Schreiber Public Notices RE: COVID-19

SCHREIBER, ON – The Township of Schreiber has shared the following statement on their Facebook page regarding facility closures and program cancellations:

Dear Residents,

In light of the public health emergency pertaining to the Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Township will be taking proactive measures to safeguard our residents and employees. Effective March 14, 2020, to April 5, 2020, the Township shall shut down all recreation facilities and programming, this includes the Arena and Community Hall, the Senior Centre and Municipal Complex Gymnasium, and the Schreiber Public Library. The 24-hour fitness centre at the Community Hall will continue to operate as an exception. Signs will be posted throughout Township properties to caution visitors with regard to the virus. The municipal office will remain open for business.

To take steps to protect yourself please regularly wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public space, or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact with people who appear sick (6-foot distance), gatherings of more than 20 people, and avoid physical contact such as handshakes. If you are feeling sick with flu-like symptoms, please call in sick and contact Telehealth at (1-866-797-0000). The Township will also put in immediate procedures to amp up the disinfection of common areas and equipment. Thank you for your cooperation.
