COVID-19 Outbreak Declared Over at Holy Saviour Catholic School

MARATHON, ON – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the Superior North Catholic District School Board confirm that the outbreak of COVID-19 at Holy Saviour Catholic School in Marathon is now over.

The period of heightened surveillance at Holy Saviour Catholic School is considered over and the impacted individuals are no longer considered to be at elevated risk. No additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified and there is no evidence of additional spread within the school setting.

Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place at the John Owen Evans Residence to reduce likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions, were implemented for the duration of the outbreak. Over the last 14 days no other staff or residents at the John Owen Evans Residence have tested positive for COVID19, as confirmed through follow-up surveillance testing.
