March Madness at Manitouwadge High School

MANITOUWADGE, ON – This last week (Mar 15-19) was supposed to be our March Break, however, with it being pushed back to April we felt we needed to “break” things up a little and try to have a little fun while learning.

We had whole school activities on Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon where students, working in grade groupings learned a bit more about the soft skills that will help to carry them through work and life (conflict resolution, team building, equity and inclusion, relationship building). We had a St. Patrick’s Day breakfast and Spirit Day on Wednesday and the Board offered some in-class virtual sessions that could be signed up for.

Everyone worked some outside time into their days – starting back up with the outside breaks when the days were warm enough and ending with 2 classes finding their way outside to fish on Friday.

The activities certainly weren’t typical, and did nicely break up the status quo! [*]  Thank you to all the staff for the preparations and the students for their efforts and engagement.
