Sante Manitouwadge Health Warns of Staffing Crisis

From Sante Manitouwadge Health:

As the struggles continue to maintain adequate Professional Workers including RN’s, Sante Manitouwadge Health is experiencing a significant crisis in our workforce.

As a result SMH is taking the necessary steps to ensure our Emergency Department remains open with the appropriate professionals 24/7, our Long Term Care residents remain in their home and our palliative patients receive the care required in our community.

The short-term impact is that on an interim basis only, people requiring admissions to the acute side of the hospital may need to be transferred to another location in order to have their urgent/emergent needs met in a safe manner.

SMH is working with health care partners to fill the required positions with the appropriate staff.  We have received commitment that, over the course of the next 3 weeks incoming staff will be arriving in Manitouwadge to address these gaps and return SMH to our normal staffing pattern once their orientation period is completed.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Team of SMH we thank you for your support as we recruit and train incoming professionals.  Please help us welcome our new community members.
