Marathon Fire Chief To Oversee Manitouwadge Volunteer Firefighters

Manitouwadge, ON – Mayor and Council for the Township of Manitouwadge are pleased to advise of the interim appointment of Mr. Earl Grigg, Fire Chief for the Town of Marathon, to oversee the operation of the Manitouwadge Fire Department, effective immediately.

With the pending retirement of the long-time Fire Chief, Mr. Owen Cranney, Council has ensured the seamless transition of the responsibilities of Fire Chief while the Township recruits a new full time Fire Chief for Manitouwadge.

“We are pleased to be working with the Town of Marathon to share their Fire Chief with us at this time. Fire prevention, training and emergency response will be three key areas that Fire Chief Grigg will assist the Township with over the coming months. Additionally, Fire Chief Grigg will lend his assistance in the recruiting and hiring process of the Township’s next full time Fire Chief. We welcome his expertise.”
