Manitouwadge Investigation Results Incl. Weapons and Disguise Charges for 2 Marathon Residents

MANITOUWADGE, ON -An investigation by Manitouwadge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in the arrest of two individuals and numerus charges. The investigation was regarding the theft of a motor vehicle as well as an assault on a Manitouwadge victim.

Arrested and charged was Matthew M. JOHNSTON age 33 of Marathon ON, JOHNSTON was charged with:

  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle CC 333.1
  • Possession Property Obtained b Crime Over $5000 CC 354(1)(a)
  • Obstruct Peace Officer CC 129(a)
  • 2 counts of Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code CC 320.18(1)(a)
  • Assault with a Weapon CC267(a)
  • Mischief Over $5000 CC 430(3)
  • Disguise with Intent CC 351(2)

JOHNSTON was held for video bail at the Marathon OPP Detachment and later transferred to the Thunder Bay District Jail and is awaiting further bail hearings.

Also arrested and charged was Christopher CONSTANTINE age 45, of Marathon ON, CONSTANTINE was charged with:

  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle CC 333.1
  • Possession Property Obtained b Crime Over $5000 CC 354(1)(a)
  • Assault with a Weapon CC267(a)
  • Mischief Over $5000 CC 430(3)
  • Disguise with Intent CC 351(2)

CONSTANTINE was held for video bail at the Marathon OPP Detachment and later released on a Release Order with several conditions as well as to return to court in Thunder Bay by audio or video on February 4, 2022.
