Superior East OPP Lays Charges After Family Dispute
WAWA, ON – On January 2, 2022, at approximately 6:15 p.m., members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a family dispute on Third Avenue in Wawa. Officers attended and determined that one of the individuals was breaching their court-ordered conditions.
As a result of the investigation, [Edited by ONN] a woman, 33 years-of-age, from Wawa, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Failure to comply with release order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
- Resist Peace Officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the CC.
The accused was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
