Wawa Goose Seniors Club News: Goose Droppings November 2013

Thank you all!!

You, who placed your order for one (or many more than one) of those 199 large pies and/or the 326 small ones, the club thanks.  We do appreciate your support which will help us pay the rent.

Thanks also goes to all those who devoted the many hours over the three weeks it took to get all those pies (and about 40 more small ones) produced.  Many were repeat donors of hours standing rolling pastry, filling the shells, painting with egg wash, crimping the edges, bagging, tagging and stashing in the freezer.  And that was the third day when we had about 15 persons on the job!  There were also the hours devoted to preparing and cooking the turkeys, making the stock, mixing the dough, dicing the veggies or the meat, and stirring the filling.  And the storage of warm turkey or filling late in the evening or getting the cold dough out of storage early in the morning meant some long days for the organizers or it all.

But the turkey pies are almost over for the year….except for the few pick ups that will happen soon.  Hurrah!! And thanks again.

We are ready to move on to the big pre-Christmas season:  bazaars and baking and getting all those goodies for which Santa depends on your help.

So….please…remember November!! Can you donate to the Basket Draw? Can you bake for the Bazaar? Do you have a goody to give to the penny sale?  It is good to check out those fine items you might not really need and pass them on to give you room for the new goodies Christmas will bring!

Unfortunately, given our preoccupation with an extra week for turkey pies we are late in doing the preparation for the Bazaar on Friday, November 22, 2013.

So…you must act quickly to help us get the show on the road in the next ten days….please!!!
