Gotta love this… I have suffered from dibilitating head pressures (not regularly) which only occured since my MS Diagnosis. I insisted to doctors that these were NOT IVIg but connected to my menstrual cycle & MS and was treated like I was out to lunch. Dr.MacTavish thankfully took my pain seriously (he was the 1st) and treated these episodes with a cocktail of drugs delivered IVPush making it possible for me to at least lay in bed without loosing my mind (the pressure is UNBELIEVABLE; I have trouble seeing, cannot tolerate ANY light – my laptop screen is too much to bear when having one of these episodes and I have to wear sunglasses to look at a television AFTER receiving medication!; the intense pain causes me to vomit which becomes uncontrolable and unstopping if not dealt with promptly -so much so that I cannot speak for throwing up too much over and over again; just the thought of one of these episodes is terrifying as they always begin with me rushing to the ER and last time my doctor who is usually good about treating me for pain did NOT come assess me himself, there was a locum nurse who was not aware of the situation and did not take it seriously(she was really rude/mean, at one point when she needed to give me a needle IM without even asking AND with the door WIDE open (there were other patients in the ER as well as my father was with me and she knew he would return any minute, she yanked down my pants/underwear to stick me with the needle – I was humiliated, embarrassed… Needless to say she did NOT take anything going on seriously, ignored my request that she tell the doctor what I was normally given for this problem – it was the night from HELL.

I have REPEATEDLY insisted that these episodes are caused by my Multiple Sclerosis and agravated by my menstrual cycle which seems to be supported by the article (click on link above) and research. I have been treated like that is not even a possibility and is completely far fetched (the health care system has a problem with accepting that we each, have the best knowledge of our own bodies, especially when someone like me has extensively documented her illness and treatments/meds.

ANYWAYS, this article is a relief and I will be printing it for my current doc.
