too neat! I’m thinking maybe we could buy a carton of extra large eggs and make our own version of these (the ones they are selling come in ceramic eggs that look absolutely precious, and not terribly expensive but still out of our budget as I try to avoid purchasing unecessaries) and see how they turn out. If it works well I’m hoping I might be able to speak with Emeraude’s Nursery School teacher about coming in to help do them with her class some time. I think I would prepare the eggs before hand and leave the ‘planting’ part for the kids. There would have to be many, many extras I think to compensate for the fragility of an egg vs the enthusiasm of a toddler lol. Would be a great activity for working on ‘gentle’ touch as well as patience needed for watching grass grow.

I think I might msg Margaret (non-plastic friend) and ask if she has ever done something similar. She is SO busy with her kids and seems to often have very original crafts up her sleeve so I’m hoping she would have some advice to offer me to put the odds of success in my favour.

Will post again when I get around to testing these (most likely 2 weeks from now at the soonest). Keep checking in!
