It is so exciting that spring is finally here. It’s been a long, long winter and I think everyone in Manitouwadge is ready for some blue skies and warmer temps, I certainly was ready for the snow to melt. The lake still has ice on it but not for long according to most people’s guesses… Anyone remember the ‘good old days’ when a car would be driven on to Manitouwadge Lake when the ice was still safe and then we would bet on when it would crash through? lol

Daniel, Emeraude & I went to the Lion’s Beach where we were meeting one of Daniel’s friends and his little girl who is the same age as Emeraude. I was having a lot of trouble walking because of bone pain and so we left Emeraude with her friend & her friend’s Dad while we drove to the hospital – we knew this was safe as the nurse in charge of the ER the last couple days (actually the days before that it was another who is really quick and keeps her ER quite uncongested as well) is one who has no trouble keeping the ER moving, so, short of a big emergency beieng in progress (in which case I would have to go back later anyways) it would not take long.  Emeraude didn’t mind at all, she was having too much fun on the equipment. We had a ton of fun. It is really neat to watch the little ones go from playing ‘around’ each other the way they do as toddlers to playing with each other. The girls shared so well and really talked through any time they were both hoping to use the same equipment figuring out how they would take turns – so sweet.

I’m already looking forward to tadpole season in August as Emeraude talks about them every time we are at the beach. We ended up picking up her friend yesterday and this morning (thurs.) for Drop-In at the family place. It was a lot of fun. Her friend had not gone to the family place before and enjoyed it alot. This morning there were many kids there, more than I’ve seen in a long time at Drop-In, another sign that the weather is becoming more hospitable.

Tomorrow morning Emeraude has Nursery School, it seems like the week has just flown by.  I have yet to actually mail our package off to Second Story. I was missing a page in our colour draft that I am including in the package. Will print it tonight at the Valu-Mart. I am so excited about the prospect of Second Story wanting the collection. Please visit the post about our 1st book, give it a read (or even better, help someone 2-6yrs old read it)and leave your critique. I sent them a link to the post and hope that by the time they look it over there will be a good collection of comments.

I still have not brought my van back to P&J’s… Daniel has said he will drive it to Thunder Bay next week, bringing the kids & I as I have an appointment with a rheumatologist on Tuesday. There is something wrong with the back end that I want looked at before bringing it on the hwy.
