0115-15_05_2009Today was crazy… Too much time wasted at the hospital and without any good reason (mix ups and miscommunications ruled my day which can be extremely frustrating, thankfully the nurse who was working Friday evening is very patient and sweet).  So, when I was finally able to get to the Lion’s beach, where Emeraude & Daniel were playing, it was really great.

When I arrived, Emeraude was busy making new friends. A lady was walking her dog Scout and playing with him at the beach.  She was so friendly and thoughtful, Emeraude brought her leaves to throw for the dog, sticks, asked many questions and brought her by the hand to show her things she found interesting and the whole time, Amber (I asked her name before leaving knowing Emeraude would want to know it) was patient and acted like she was happy to have the company.  It is so great for kids, when they get up the nerve to talk to people they don’t know and ask questions that a stranger takes the time to answer their questions and listen (we did speak at bathtime about how it was ok to talk to this particular stranger as Mommy & Daddy were there, etc, etc…)

Emeraude also thouroughly enjoyed her first ride in the trailer her Dad bought for his bike (sold his four wheeler for it so hopefully they will get plenty of use out of it!) as did “Annabelle” who she brought along for the ride lol.  It wasn’t quite adjusted for Emeraude so she was a little folded up in it but he seemed confident that it would not be difficult to fix that.

I was only there (Lion’s beach) as I had once again been held up at the hospital in spite of my best efforts to avoid such a situation.  But even in that short time saw quite a few (and was bitten by a couple) mosquitoes. I do not recall there ever being mosquitoes in Manitouwadge before the kids were out of school and am hoping that the snowstorm we were treated to yesterday (sat.05.17.09) will help to get rid of the bulk of them. It was none the less, 21h20 by the time Emeraude arrived home (being pulled in the trailer) and so I gave her a very quick shower (this could not be put off until morning after the very active day she had including alot of adventure at the playground & beach). Afterwards we decided that it being Friday, we needed to have a bit of crazy fun and so made ourselves bowls of ice cream; mine w/caramel, hers with pecans and chocolate shell, and cozied up in my bed to watch a bit of tv.  We also found some Jeeping video that our friend Roger had posted on Facebook which Emeraude got a good laugh out of and it was finally time for bed.

Ending the day in Mommy's bed w/ some tv & ice cream :)

It had been an incredibly challenging day but at least we had finished it on a good note enjoying each others quiet company.
