Juvenile Bonaparte’s at the Lion’s Beach

While at the beach yesterday I went a little crazy snapping photos of some birds walking at the water’s edge and fishing. Originally I believed that I was snapping photos of Sandpipers, thankfully a local bird enthusiast, Tammie Hache was helpful in clarifying that these are actually juvenile bonaparte gull’s. The gull’s she explained,  are quite a bit smaller than there cousins at Manitouwadge’s land fill site adding that as adults their heads will be solid black.

Below are some of the photos, I’ve saved the more dramatic ones for the silent auction at KG’s next week.
