Vehicular tragedy near Manitouwadge

 

FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION 

 

Ontario Provincial Police Marathon-Manitouwadge Detachment

(MANITOUWADGE, ON.)

Two pick-up trucks, traveling in opposite directions, collided head on at the crest of a hill. There were three male occupants in the vehicles. One occupant was able to exit his vehicle on his own, while the other two of the occupants had to be extracted by Fire Department personnel. The three males were transported to the Manitouwadge General Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

While in hospital, one male Eusebio ESARTE, age 56 of Manitouwadge died as a result of his injuries. One male was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital for further treatment of his injuries. The third male was released from the Manitouwadge General Hospital after being treated for his
injuries. 
 

The OPP are continuing their investigation regarding this collision. 

–On April 12, 2010 at 04:45pm the Manitouwadge/Marathon  OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred approximately 12 km North of Manitouwadge on Wowun Road, 2 km North of Camp 70 Road.
