Your Summer Job Is Out There

McGuinty Government Helps More Young People Find Jobs

Algoma-Manitoulin MP Mike Brown felt the programs being offered would benefit constituents of every age; "This provides a wonderful opportunity for our youth to get experience in the work force and for employers to benefit from their eagerness to learn job skills." said Brown.

Students across Ontario have more opportunities this year to find a summer job.

Jobs and job-search services are still available through the Summer Jobs Service, the Ontario Public Service, Summer Company, and Summer Jobs for Youth programs. These programs help young workers connect to jobs in the private sector or in government, or launch their own summer business.

The province’s Open Ontario plan is investing a record $90 million to help provide more than 100,000 jobs and services to students through these programs in 2010.  Programs include targeted resources for at-risk youth in priority communities through the Youth Opportunities Strategy.
