Full Belly Deli giving back

by Karina Hunter

Mary Belmore, Owner/Operator of the Full Belly Deli in Manitouwadge is no stranger to how cancer can affect families; she lost her mother-in-law to the disease.  As many people know, survivors of cancer are never truly free  again, they are forever monitoring PSA levels and being weary of changes to their body’s, Belmore’s loved one had, when first diagnose, originally won her fight against cancer.  Unfortunately, after 43 years cancer free, the disease returned with a vengeance and within months she lost her life, it is clearly a loss that Belmore still mourns, her eyes full of emotion as she explained her personal connection to the fight.  This is among the reasons why she decided that with the support of her staff and some friends, the Full Belly Deli would register a team for the e2010 Northshore Region Relay for Life in Manitouwadge.

To help raise the funds her team will donate to the cause on Relay night June 11th, Belmore has been baking up a storm, loaf after loaf of her famous ‘Banana Nut Bread Mini-Loaves’ which can be purchased for just $3/ea (no tax). 100% of moneys raised, the full $3 per loaf, is being donated to the Relay for Life!

To purchase your Banana Nut Bread Mini-Loaf, visit the Full Belly Deli OR watch for their table at next week’s Community Yard Sale at the Manitouwadge Recreation Centre Arena.
