13 Alcohol and Boating Related Charges Laid

(SUPERIOR EAST OPP) –  On the afternoon of June 2, 2010 members of Superior East OPP along with the OPP Marine Unit conducted conducted patrols of Dog Lake and Wabitongushi Lake near Missanabie, Ontario.  A number of water craft were checked and as a result 13 charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario including “Operate Boat with Open Liquor” and “Possess Liquor other that Residence or Licensed Premises”.  Boaters are reminded that consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages on a boat is an offence and police will be out enforcing all regulations through-out the boating season.  Please follow safe boating practices.
