NIPIGON, ON.

Beginning Saturday, June 5th until September there will be a weekly open air market taking place at the Nipigon Town Hall Courtyard, adjacent to the Paddle to the Sea Park. The market’s theme of Hand Made Home Grown will highlight the many crafters and artists found around the North Shore of Lake Superior.

The recent grand opening of the Paddle to the Sea Park in Nipigon presents a unique opportunity to use this public space to promote the community and attract visitors to the town. “Nipigon is truly becoming a destination for the people of the region“ commented Mayor Richard Harvey adding that “This is just one more exciting opportunity for people to experience what Nipigon has to offer.”

Since the opening of the New Town Hall last year the Township of Nipigon has been looking for ways to highlight and use the Courtyard surrounding the building and is very pleased to have volunteers come forward with this plan.

Local craft person Wendy Turner, who is co-coordinating the Market is also excited about the possibilities “The quality of hand made and home grown products being produced in our area is amazing and this will provide just one more opportunity to show case the local talent and the community”said Turner.

The Market will be open from 10 am to 2 pm each Saturday in the court yard surrounding the Nipigon Town Hall on Front Street. Anyone who is interested in exhibiting or looking for more information can contact Wendy Turner by phone at 807-887-0002 or by email at w.turner@live.ca
