NIPIGON, ON – Local artisans and musicians filled the grounds surrounding the Nipigon Tourist Information Centre yesterday, August 5th.  The Top of Lake Superior Cruise Ship Committee hosted the Fish Fry and Artisans Farmers Market event in order to continue the celebration of the cruise ship arrivals.  The next arrival is not until September however, the community members have enjoyed the gatherings over the past few months, so the committee decided to move the celebrations to Nipigon for a change.

There were crafters, banjo players, fiddlers and even a fresh juice stand welcoming all the visitors to the centre and it concluded with a tasty, fresh pickerel fish fry.  All proceeds of the fish fry go to the committee and their efforts in continuing to attract the cruise ship to the area.

Local crafters/photographers, John and Lesli Griesbach, owners of Bear Moose Marketing, were at the event.  The couple has a beautiful array of photographs which they take and print themselves.  Also they have a variety of Red Rock branded memorabilia; bottle cosies, blankets and postcards.

Maurice the Moose, adopted by the Top of Lake Superior Committee, was also at the event enjoying the height of summer and indulging in the fish fry feast.  Despite the strong gusts of wind and sun-showers, the event was a success.  For more information on the Top of Lake Superior please visit, www.topoflakesuperior.com.
