Drive, Chip & Putt Junior Skills Competition

Date: Saturday, September 11, 10:00 am
Rain Date: Sunday, September 12, 10:00am.
Details:

  • Driving (distance and accuracy),
  • Chipping(closest to point system)
  • Putting contest(closest to point system).

Open to juniors 17 years of age and younger. Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each contest and top three overall winners.

Entry Fee: FREE (includes snack)
Age divisions:

  • Boys and Girls- 9 and under,
  • 10-11, 12-13,
  • 14-15,& 16-17.

No matter if you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced junior golfer this event is an excellent stage to show off your skills in a fun, yet challenging environment.

Prizes and Qualification:
♦ At the Local Qualifier the top 1 in each age division will advance to the Regional Qualifier, the top 2 in each age division advance at each Regional will advance on to the Section Competition

Divisions for Boys and Girls:

Age as of State Finals (August 11, 2007):
♦ 9 and under
♦ 10-11
♦ 12-13
♦ 14-15
♦ 16-17

Putting:
2 Putts from 5 feet
2 Putts from 8 feet

Scoring:
2 Points for each putt outside 18 inches
5 Points for putt within 18 inch radius (36 inch diameter)
10 Points for each putt made

Chipping:

40 Foot Chip
4 Chips-The best 3 are scored

Setup:
Mark 2 Circles around the hole at the following distances:
3 Ft. Radius (6 Ft Diameter)
7 Ft. Radius (14 Ft Diameter)

Scoring:
25 Points = Chip In
15 Points = Inside 3 Ft. Radius
5 Points = Inside 7 Ft. Radius
2 Points = Chip outside of all circles

Driving:
4 Drives-The best 3 are scored

Setup:
Fairway is 30 yards wide

Scoring:

9 and under & 10-11 age divisions

5 Points = Ball hit anywhere
10 Points = In the fairway under 50 yards
13 Points = In the fairway 51-75 yards
16 Points = In the fairway 76-100 yards
19 Points = In the fairway 101-150 yards
25 Points = In the fairway 151 yards & over

12-13, 14-15, & 16-17 age divisions

5 Points = Ball hit anywhere
10 Points = In the fairway under 150 yards
13 Points = In the fairway 151-175 yards
16 Points = In the fairway 176-200 yards
19 Points = In the fairway 201-225 yards
25 Points = In the fairway 226 yards & over
