ST. BASIL’S SCHOOL DAMAGED

MISCHIEF TO ST.BASIL’S SCHOOL

(WHITE RIVER, ON.) – On August 5th, 2010 at 9:30 am Superior East OPP in White River received a report that person(s) unknown had broken 11 windows at various locations around St. Basil’s School on Spruce Street.  Large rocks, used to smash the windows, were located inside the school.  It is believed that this incident occurred sometime after 1:15 pm on August 4th, 2010 when staff left the school.  The OPP are requesting the public’s assistance in apprehending those responsible for this senseless damage.  Anyone with any information is asked to call The OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

FLEEING MALE IDENTIFIED

(WHITE RIVER, ON.) – On August 3rd, 2010 it was reported that on the evening of August 1st, 2010 an eastbound vehicle containing two males had fled from a RIDE check being conducted in White River.  One male in the car was apprehended at the scene and a second male had fled into a wooded area.  It is now known that the 2009 Kia Sportage the two subjects were driving had been reported stolen on May 27, 2010 from the OSHAWA, Ontario area.   The male who fled has now been identified as Anthony Robin ROBERTS age 29 of OSHAWA, Ontario.  It is believed that this male has left the White River area.  A warrant has been issued for his arrest on a charge of Possession of Property over $5000.00 in relation to the stolen car.   Also charged with the same offence is Jason GOLD age 29 of no fixed address.  He will appear in Wawa Criminal Court at a later date to answer to the charge.
