Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Thunder storms with heavy down pours of rain, high wind gusts and lots of lightning scattered over northwestern Ontario in the last 24hrs have dropped the forest fire hazard to low. The humid and hot weather experienced between down pours will continue.

This fire is 5.0ha and being monitored. Sioux Lookout 69 is located just south of Pickle Lake near Metcalf Lake. The fire is small at 0.1ha and no problems are anticipated putting this fire out.

Sioux Lookout fires 63 at 300ha, 64 at 75ha, and 65 at 200ha continue to be monitored in the extreme Far North as well as Red Lake fire 39 at 0.1ha near Kee-Way-Win.
