McGuinty Government Helps To Improve Snowmobile Trails

Ontario is supporting winter tourism by promoting the sustainability of snowmobile trails across the province.

The province will invest $3 million to support the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven organization. The group manages and maintains snowmobile trails in Ontario.

Ontario’s snowmobile trail system is among the most developed in Canada, with an international reputation for quality and safety. Attracting new and returning visitors to snowmobile this winter is part of our Open Ontario plan to create a stronger, more competitive tourism industry in Ontario.

QUICK FACTS

  • Ontario’s snowmobiling-related activities generated $71.6 million in 2008.
