Superior East OPP Report Dangerous Drivers in Wawa & Chapleau
FALL FROM PICKUP RESULTS IN INJURIES
CHAPLEAU , ON – On November 7, 2010 at 12:25 pm Superior East OPP in Chapleau investigated a single motor vehicle collision on Pine Street. The incident resulted in serious but non-life threatening injuries to a 17 year old female passenger of Chapleau who was subsequently transported to Sudbury hospital for further treatment. A pickup truck driven by a 21 year old male from Chapleau was reversing and turned sharply causing the passenger door to open and the female to fall out onto the street. This matter remains under investigation.
STUNT DRIVER CHARGED HIGHWAY 17
WAWA, ON – On November 7, 2010 at approximately 4 pm Superior East OPP in Wawa observed a northbound vehicle proceeding at a high rate of speed on Highway 17 north, Dambrossio Twp., near the Junction of Highway 519. The vehicle’s speed was locked in on RADAR at 155 kph in a posted 90 kph zone. The vehicle was stopped and Imad AL-HASSAMIA age 26 of SCARBOROUGH, Ontario was subsequently charged with STUNT DRIVING contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. His Driver’s Licence and 2010 Nissan Versa was seized for seven days. He will appear in Wawa Traffic court at a later date to answer to the charge.
