Kiwissa Opening Day w/Video

MANITOUWADGE, ON – December 21st, 2010 skiers and snowboarders headed to Kiwissa Ski Centre for Opening Day and a first look at some big changes.

INSIDE – The chalet has been renovated; the kitchen has been closed off, a new leasee is providing a full menu at Kiwissa and has brought with them new tables/chairs creating a restaurant within the chalet and adding some much needed seating.  OUTSIDE – The 614, Kiwissa’s newest run, a full kilometer of wide winding trail, offers skiers another Green Square level run to enjoy bringing the total run count at the mountain to ten.

As the afternoon ended, Kiwissa Ski Club volunteer, Linda Hedderson made the draw, from persons who had purchased their individual or family membership prior to December 21st, for a free ski membership.  Winners, the Lalonde Family from Manitouwadge, would be receiving a full refund for the Kiwissa Family Membership they had purchased.  This is just one of the many ways the Kiwissa Ski Club helps to promote skiing at the township owned hill and EDO Dave Raymond was on hand to thank Linda for this important annual initiative sponsored by the club.

The Kiwissa Ski Centre will be open throughout the holidays, from Noon – 5pm, December 21, 22, 23, 24; 27, 28, 29, 30 and January 2nd, lift tickets are just $5 for the practice hill or $17.50/person for a full lift ticket; rentals are just $15/skis+boots OR snowboard+boots; $10/one peice of equipment.
