Motorized Snowmobile Must Stop for Stopped School Bus

In the past two days school bus operators in Wawa have had three Motorized Snow Vehicles (MSVs) fail to stop for their bus’s when the light were activated. The rules for MSV’s are the same as those for cars. You must stop when overtaking or approaching a school bus that has it’s lights activated and stopped. If you are charged for failing to stop for a school bus on a MSV you will be required to attend court as there is no set fine for this offence. Under the Highway Traffic Act the minimum fine is $400.00.

Keep our children safe and stop for all school bus’s with their lights activated.
