2011 PDL Schedule Released

Thunder Bay, ON The Thunder Bay Chill have been given an official start date for their 2011 season today, as the United Soccer Leagues released the divisional alignment and schedule for the Premier Development League (PDL), with the 512-game regular season getting underway the weekend of April 30-May 1.

The Chill, who lost in the 2010 PDL Championship Game, open up their 16-game regular season schedule on the road May 28th. They’ll face off against league and division new-comers, WSA Winnipeg. While Portland Timbers U23s, defending PDL Champions, host the Victoria Highlanders on May 6th.

Chill Head Coach Tony Colistro is excited to have his team’s road map back to the finals laid out, but warns they have a tough stretch ahead. “The season is always tough, but with the additional stop in Colorado, this year’s major road trip will be our biggest test ever as a club,” stated Colistro.

With the announcement of the schedule comes a change in focus for the players. Chill Captian Nolan Intermoia knows his team will have to work even harder than last year to make consecutive trips to the finals. “We know what it takes to get to the finals, work ethic and focus have to stay the same, and our drive to win has to increase,” said Intermoia.

The Chill’s first home game will take place at Chapples Park on June 10th, 2011 against fierce divisional rival, the Des Moines Menace. For information on tickets please contact the box office at 807-623-5911.
