Leprauchans Cause Mischeif in Two OLOL Classrooms

OLOL JK & SK classes with their teachers and volunteer.

JK & SK Students pour out of the office of Principal Diane Nelson.

MANITOUWADGE, ON – St. Patrick’s Day fun arrived early at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Manitouwadge today, many of the students and staff dressed in green on the request of student council while Junior and Senior Kindergarten students went on a school-wide hunt of a leprachaun who had left them messages throughout the school. Students, wearing green leprachaun hats complete with beards, searched through the school in single file finding riddles to lead them along the way.

The hunt continues as students on the 2nd floor.

Returning to their class the students found that the leprachaun had arrived ahead of them, causing a great deal of mischeif. Chairs turned over, toys spilled onto the floor and plenty of gold coins strewn throughout the room were a welcome surprise to the Mrs. Milks and Ms. McCauley’s little friends.  Along with the chocolate coins, clover stickers and St. Patrick’s Day themed cups to gather it all in, the leprachaun did leave notes of apology in each of the classrooms, explaining that he had been a little carried away dancing and hoped they could tidy his mess adding that perhaps it was not necessary to mention his leaving the chocolate behind to Mrs. Nelson, the school’s principal.

JK students celebrated with St. Patrick’s Day songs they had been learning and a nible at some of their chocolate during snack time before heading out side for a much needed recess.

Down the stairs in single file, these leprachaun chasers have almost searched the entire school...

Toppled chairs and toys strewn about - a sure sign a leprachan had been in their class.

Another gold coin found on a shelf.

Picking up the mess a mischievious leprachaun left in his wake.

What's this? The toilet water is green! More evidence of a leprachaun maybe?

Some students found many coins, others less - not a problem as everyone helped even things out after the hunt.

Students look through their 'loot', each one keeps 5 coins, passing the extra along for a friend with less.
