Local Business Becomes Largest Of Its Kind In The District

Sault Ste. Marie, ON – On Sunday, April 3, the Studio Dance Arts competitive dancers will take the stage for the first time, as a larger regional team. With a new studio in Elliot Lake, Studio Dance Arts has officially grown to become the largest dance education facility in the Algoma District.

Having acquired Dance Works in Elliot Lake, the local studio is now set to add the name under the Studio Dance Arts umbrella. The new second location co-owners, Richard Kim and Matthew Caruso are working side by side with the previous owner Christine Claridge-Brunet and staff. This expanded team of dance professionals ensures the continuation of quality dance education that Miss Brunet has established in the North Shore area during the last twenty one years.

“This has been a very exciting development for our studio,” comments Richard Kim, Founder/Director of SDA Sault Ste. Marie. “The Elliot Lake studio partnership with Matthew Caruso and working with the team there has been a phenomenal experience and we have all learned a lot from each other. We are very eager to advance the access to dance education across the region and this new facility allows us the opportunity to do just that.”

April 3 marks the first time the competitive teams from the Sault Ste. Marie and Elliot Lake locations of Studio Dance Arts will share the stage as the united and larger SDA team. The Competitive Showcase at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre is when the team locally showcases their routines that they will take to several competitions across North America in the coming weeks. Following the performance, Studio Dance Arts will be hosting a pep-rally that will officially unite this team and allow them all to get to know each other a little better as they compete together, representing Studio Dance Arts.

SDA is looking forward to hosting family, friends, media and the general public to this event on April 3 at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre. Audiences will have the opportunity to see the incredible talent of this dance team and wish them the best of luck as they head out across Canada and the United States to compete, proudly representing our communities.
