MANITOUWADGE, ON – At last night’s town council meeting in Manitouwadge, Acting Mayor Donna Jaunzarins passed a motion to declare May 26th, 2011 ‘Shades of Fun’ day in Manitouwadge.

Shades of Fun is a CNIB (Canadian National Instute for the Blind) national initiative to raising awareness of the need to protect our eyes and the consequences of not doing so.

Every 12 minutes, someone in Canada begins to lose their vision. Often, it’s news that not only turns their own life upside down, but also affects their family and friends.

CNIB’s goal is to empower every one of those Canadians with the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life – with practical, one-on-one support delivered in their own homes and communities.

By getting together with your family, friends and colleagues and participating in Shades of Fun, you’ll help the CNIB take a huge step toward reaching their goal.

Fundraising done through the Shades of Fun initiative helps to fund their vital services and develop new programs that will change the lives of blind or partially sighted people in communities accross Canada. Keep reading OntarioNewsNorth.com for details of how you can participate!
