The OFSAA Badminton tournament brought out the best in all of the North Shore Secondary School Athletic Association (NSSSAA) athletes the 2nd week of May in Aurora. Eleven students from Manitouwadge, Marathon and Wawa represented the North Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association(NWOSSAA).

Raquel Amos had a great tournament and easily won C-Flight Bronze in Girl’s Singles play. Stevie Wielgosch and Cody Osiecki (Manitouwadge High School Wolverines) were in an usual predicament. After losing their B-Flight match they discovered they would be playing their arch rivals Emilio Knee and Jessica Tessier, also from Manitouwadge. Unfortunately this should not happen so early in a draw. After defeating their rivals, Wielgosch and Osiecki went on to win C-Flight Bronze. Elaine Milks and Alexandria Clarke (Manitouwadge Wolverines) as well as Twance and Nutbrown (Marathon Falcons) won matches in B-Flight but did not advance beyond that. The boys doubles team of Ronnie Fogarty and Kevin Gauthier (Manitouwadge Wolverines) played their best but ran into some tough competition.
