NOTICE TO AREA RESIDENTS – UNCLAIMED PROPERTY

MARATHON, ON – The Marathon OPP has a number of unclaimed bicycles and other property in storage.

NOTICE is being given to area residents that these items will be turned over to the Marathon Police Services Board, as required by the provisions of the Police Services Act of Ontario. These items will be sold at auction on Thursday the 9th of June 2011 at 6pm at the Marathon OPP Detachment. Proceeds will be directed to the local Crime Stoppers program.

Anyone having lost any items or bicycles during the year of 2010 until the present and wishing to claim their property are asked to attend the Marathon Detachment by June 6th 2011. Enquiries about stored property will be taken Monday – Friday from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. No storage fees will be levied up to and including the 6th of June.

After 6pm on the 6th of June 2011, all unclaimed property will become the property of the Town of Marathon. Anyone who attends the Marathon Detachment after the 6th of June and attempts to claim ownership of any of the above noted items will have to provide proof of ownership and pay a $20.00 storage fee.

There will be a fundraiser BBQ for Crime Stoppers at the auction.
